Constitutional Province status of GB: SUC and JUI (F) agree on joint struggle

Shiite News: Islami Tahreek Pakistan (Shia Ulema Council) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam have agreed on a joint struggle for a constitutional province. Consultations will also be held with Jamaat-e-Islami, PML-N and PPP in this regard. The statement issued after the important meeting of the leaders of both parties in Gilgit said that our destination is Pakistan, but we are being held against the wall instead of the chest.

The Islami Tahreek Pakistan has once again intensified its efforts to determine the constitutional status of Gilgit-Baltistan and achieve a constitutional province. In this regard, a consultative meeting with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam was held at a local hotel, which was attended by a party delegation led by Provincial Amir JUI Maulana Ataullah Shehab and the two parties welcomed a joint struggle and take onboard other religious and political parties for this goal.

Sheikh Mirza Ali, Provincial Organizer of Islami Tahreek Pakistan, while talking to Media, said that Islami Tahreek Pakistan has the honor of taking a principled stand for determining the constitutional status of GB and today all political parties have supported our position. Due to which all political parties consider the Islami Tahreek Pakistan as the head of troop in determining the constitutional status of Gilgit-Baltistan, which is an honor for us and its credit for goes to Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, the leader of the movement.

He added that the present government ran its election campaign with the slogan of Gilgit-Baltistan’s constitutional status but for unknown reasons, now it has forgotten its main objective, which created a wave of frustration in the entire region. This is not a good omen for the region.

He further said that the Islami Tahreek Pakistan has taken up the task of representing the region as in the past and in this regard a consultative meeting was held with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam at a local hotel today in which Provincial Amir Maulana Ataullah Shehab of JUI thanked ITP and assured full cooperation, saying that the determination of the constitutional status of Gilgit-Baltistan had reached a critical juncture and now, time has come, in which all religious and political parties needed to come to an agreement. There is no doubt that whenever an atmosphere of national harmony is created here simultaneously professional tensions are arose, which is unfortunate. The meeting also agreed on a joint strategy to promote other social, regional and interfaith harmony along with the joint struggle for constitutional rights.
