MWM big announcement against unequal Shia representation in government institutions and cases against mourners
Shiite News: Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi, Provincial Secretary General of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Punjab, while addressing a press conference, said that the Punjab administration has adopted a biased attitude towards the school of Ahl-e-Bayt. He strongly condemned the conspiracy to wall Jaffaria under the guise of Corona SOPs. He made clear that celebrating Yom Ali is our lifeblood and solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians is inseparable part of our faith. What could be a hypocrisy greater than it with Millat e Jafaria that if they protest in favor of the oppressed Palestinian Muslims this year as they do every year. The FIR be registered and the FIR also be registered on the celebration of Ali (as) Day. While rallies in favor of the Palestinians should be held on the announcement of Prime Minister Imran Khan, they should be appreciated.
He said that religious prejudice against the Shia community in government religious institutions has been exacerbated and the number of their scholars in the Muttahida Ulema Board has been reduced by 50 per cent as compared to Deobandi and Ahl-e-Sunnat Barelvi. A fanatic anti Shia person has been appointed chairman of the United Ulema Board. More than two years have passed since the current session of the United Ulema Board, but so far the number of Shia ulema has not been matched by the number of other sects. In the previous sessions of the United Ulema Board before the arrival of the bigoted leader, the number of scholars of the Jaffaria community was equal to the number of scholars of other sects. The number of Shia representatives in the Inter-Muslim Unity Committee has also been kept low. The Qur’an Board is also preparing to adopt a biased attitude.
He demanded the Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar and the endowment secretary to address this prejudiced attitude. If the number of Shia Ulema in the Muttahida Ulema Board is not equal to other sects, a symbolic sit-in will be held on June 25 outside the office of the Endowment Department in Lahore. Unnecessary false cases are being registered in the districts of Punjab especially against the mourners of Chiniot and they are being put in Schedule Four. We will never leave the mourners of Chiniot alone. Chiniot’s biased MPAs and biased DPOs have conspired to wall off Millat e Jaffaria.
He said that despite our talks with Law Minister Raja Basharat, Chiniot’s case has not been taken back. A mourning conference will be held at the Divisional Headquarters on the issue of mourning before Muharram where a symbolic sit-in will be held.
