MWM: Staying execution of terrorists tantamount to judicial support for terrorism
Allama Nasir Abbas Jafari, Secretary General of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, has said on Tuesday that suspension of hanging of the condemned takfiri terrorists by some judges was no less than judicial support to ongoing terrorism in Pakistan.
“Takfiri terrorists massacred innocent school going children in Peshawar. They continue killing civilians and security officials across Pakistan alongside continuing genocide against Shia Muslims. Why delay in their hanging,” he asked speaking at a press conference here in Karachi.
He said that on the one hand, justice was delayed that also amounted to denial of justice to the aggrieved parties, and on the other, hanging of the condemned terrorists awaiting execution for years, was suspended. He urged that superior judiciary and parliament should take notice of such unjustifiable delay in hanging of the condemned terrorists.
“Takfiris and pro-takfiris within the Parliamentary parties should also be expelled and they must be taken to task for disgusting role in encouraging terrorism. When you say that abettors and sympathizers of the terrorists will also be punished, then start it from parliamentary parties and judiciary,” he urged.
MWM’s head urged the government and parliamentarians to desist from delaying tactics in finalizing counterterrorism strategy. He said that they all should actively back ongoing “Operation Zarb-e-Azb of Pakistan’s armed forces and expands it to entire country.” He said that government, politicians and media should not hide the identity of the takfiri terrorists. Instead, he exhorted, they should name the particular terrorist outfits, seminaries and mosques and everyone who back the terrorists.
“Media should not project the terrorist outfits’ leaders and pro-terrorists clerics by inviting them for comments during news hours and talks shows. Moderate clerics and politicians should be invited to present the true face of Islam. Pro-talks commentary should not be encouraged but pro-operation narrative should be disseminated,” he urged.
Allama Jafari demanded that parliament should introduce new legislation without any delay in which takfiri ideology should be declared punishable crime. He said that takfiri ideology is a source of inspiration and persuasion for the takfiri terrorists who consider them righteous Muslims and count other Muslims as infidels. Hence, he urges, parliament must legislate to punish the promoters of takfiri ideology in Pakistan.
“Peshawar Tragedy must not be forgotten. As a nation we have to continue mourning as long as all the perpetrators and abettors are duly punished. We have to counter and crush terrorists altogether,” he stressed.
He condemned the targeted murders of 2 Shia Muslims and attacks on 3 other Shiites in Karachi on Monday and condoled with the heirs and relatives of the victims. He said that Shia Muslims were asking if they were not full citizens of Pakistan and why a criminal silence against their genocide at the hands of those same terrorists who claimed responsibility for Peshawar massacre of innocent children and female teachers.
