Pakistan Army Chief calls for attaining self reliance in defence production.

Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa said this during visit to Pakistan Ordnance Factories at Wah today (Friday).

POF Chairman Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar received him on arrival.

Meanwhile, the army chief got detailed briefing on performance of various production units of POF. It focused on targets achieved and future projects.

Moreover, Pakistan Army Chief termed technological up-gradation, modernization and indigenous development to attain self-reliance in defence production as vital to meet challenges of future battlefield.

Notably, the POF envisaged projects for modernization for cost effective and sustainable production and acquisition of modern technology in line with prevailing operational requirements of Pakistan Armed Forces.

The POF personnel further apprised General Bajwa on the POF endeavours for international ventures.

Their ventures focus on exports to contribute to national exchequer.

Meanwhile, he visited the display lounge that showcased newly developed defence products.

While appreciating POF management and staff, the COAS termed POF a force behind the Armed Forces serving as backbone in defence of Pakistan.
