Islami Tehreek fields 8 contestants in Gilgit Baltistan election 2020 where PTI, PPP, PMLN and MWM’s nominated contenders are also contesting.

The party has fielded Mustafa Shah from Gilgit-1 constituency, Faqeer Shah from Gilgit-2 and Ziauddin Advocate from Gilgit-3.

Moreover, Islami Tehreek nominated Baqir Shaikh from Nagar-1, M Abbas Advocate from Skardu-1, M Shabbir Hafizi from Skardu 2, Captain Mohammad Ali Sikandar (retd) from Skardu 4 and Mohammad Ali Khan Kacho from Kharmang.

Allama Shabbir Maisami, Allama Nazir Taqvi, Allama Abid Raza Irfani, Allama Jafar Subhani and Zahid Ali Akhunzada are running election campaign of Islami Tehreek Pakistan’s contestants.

They expressed hope that Gilgit-Baltistan people would vote for representatives of Islami Tehreek in the election.

On the other hand, MWM claims credit for Prime Minister Imran’s announcement to grant Gilgit Baltistan provincial status.

Imran Khan made announcement, while addressing the attendees and participants of the Azadi Parade held to mark the 73rd Independence Day of Gilgit Baltistan.

congratulated people of GB on the PTI government’s decision to give GB provincial status.

Imran Khan said the government of Pakistan made this decision, while keeping in view the UN Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.

Notably, Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) had formed electoral alliance with PTI on the condition regarding Constitutional status to Gilgit Baltistan.
