His family confirmed it late Saturday night. This news saddened his admirers.

Thousands of mourners attended his funeral prayers at Shohda-e-Karbala Imam Bargah Incholi.
He was laid to rest at Wadi-e-Hussain graveyard.
Allama Zameer Akhtar was a Ph.D. scholar. He believed in literary work. He had authored books and also published work of Mir Anis and Josh Maleeh Abadi.
He had a library where he remained busy in reading books throughout his life.
Due to his different style and oratory in a lighter vein and frank conversation, he became known.
Sometimes, he spoke on personal understanding of facts and sometimes he took advantage of poetic license even in the prose.
That also made him controversial but he also defended his imaginary or fiction-based arguments.
Despite all that, he had a vast following that people saw in his funeral on Sunday night.
