MWM sit-in outside Parliament House to protest against Chilas Tragedy

dharnaA rally and a sit-in were staged outside Parliament House on Friday on a call from Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen to protest against Chilas Tragedy and bad law and order conditions in Gilgit.
The rally was started from Markazi Imam Bargah in sector G-6/2 and the participants marched through main road to reach Parliament House. They were carrying banners and placards inscribe with slogans against the tragedy and inaction against terrorists and partial role of the government and the agencies.
Speaking at the sit-in, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri, chief of the MWM cited that federal interior minister himself has said that there are terrorists training centres in Dyamir. He said inaction against these terrorists make us to believe that government itself patronize them.
He said that there was no Sunni-Shia tension in Gilgit-Baltistan. He said they live in peace and unity with cohesion.
Allama Jafri said that people now raise questions that passengers of 35 buses had gone missing and the want to know the whereabouts of these Gilgit-Baltistan bound buses’ passengers. He said that actual figures of the martyrs were not made known to us.

Allama Amin Shaheedi, deputy secretary general of the MWM said that external forces have created problems in the name of ethnicity and nationalities otherwise Gilgit-Baltistan was a hub of peace and order.

He said when they failed in attaining their ulterior motives, they pushed this area to bloodshed and terrorism. He said people talk of Balochistan-like conditions in Gilgit but he disagreed expressing apprehensions that Bangladesh like situation could be created there if due action was not taken against the terrorists.

Allama Shaikh Aijaz Hussain Behishti, secretary general of MWM Youth Affairs has said that Shia Muslims is the most suppressed people in Pakistan.

Allama Shaikh Nayyar Abbas Mustafavi, MWM Gilgit Baltistan’s secretary general, said that injustices were being done to Shia Muslims for last 65 years. He said the oppression of Shia Muslims here has no parallel in the history of the country. He said that terrorists murder Shia Muslims in the presence of police.
Ali Dervish of Youth of Gilgit demanded that missing passengers must be recovered and shifted to their homes forthwith and the bodies of all the martyrs must be handed over to the heirs and relatives immediately.
