Pakistan celebrates 73rd year of Independence with traditional zeal and fervour.

Celebrations witnessed across the country as change of guard ceremonies held at Mazaar-e-Quaid and Mazaar-e-Iqbal in Karachi and Lahore, respectively.

Flag hoisting ceremonies held at public and private offices across the country. Special programmes marked the Independence Day.

President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan and Shia Islamic parties’ leaders Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari issued special message on 14th August 2020.

They recalled the sacrifices of the ancestors and those fought for and laid down their lives in defence of the country.

They urged the nation to stand firm and work for progress and prosperity of the country.

Furthermore, they asked the people to stay united in order to meet the challenges that are being faced by Pakistan.

Later, at a flag hoisting ceremony at the President House, President Alvi noted that Pakistan had faced several challenges since its inception.

However, he added now Pakistan has reached point where improvements witnessed in various areas.

Dr Arif Alvi also hailed Prime Minister Imran’s government for working against corruption and for the development of the country.
