Lahore’s Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has ordered immediate release of well-known Pakistani Shia leader, Maulana Syed Ghulam Raza Naqvi on Monday after he spent 18 long years in jail without any charges.

Order for his release was also issued on Saturday but till the filing of this report, Ghulam Raza Naqvi has not been released despite the repeated orders from the Court of Law.

Shia Muslims respect Mr. Naqvi because he tried to protect Shiites in Pakistan but the anti-Shia establishment defamed him and conspired to punish him for vowing defence of Shia Muslims. Despite their conspiracies, the enemies failed to protect a single charge against him. In the modern legal terminology, justice delayed is considered justice denied and in the case of Allama Ghulam Raza Naqvi, justice was delayed for last 18 hours and it was in fact denial of justice.

Shia leader Ghulam Raza Naqvi, the head of Sipah-e-Muhammad Pakistan (SMP) was imprisoned in 1996 and charges were framed against him that he or his party was involved in killing of the takfiri nasbi terrorists who the government itself declared terrorists. On August 14, 2001 military ruler President Pervez Musharraf a longtime of takfiris banned the Naqvi’s party to equate the oppressed Shia Muslims with the takfiri nasbi terrorists who were the oppressors.
