Interior ministry orders repatriation of Zaireen and Tableeghis prior to Ramazan.

The Interior Ministry has directed all Chief Secretaries and also the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) for repatriation of stranded Tableeghis and Zaireen.

Ministry directed them to ensure immediate repatriation of all the stranded Tableeghis and Zaireen prior to the start of fasting month of Ramazan.

However, it also sought to ensure observance of existing standard operating procedure (SOPs) regarding Coronavirus in this regard.

The health authorities and districts administration had earlier notified the SOPs in the wake of coronavirus.

According to the ministry’s notification, strict disciplinary action would be initiated against all those who failed to fulfill their responsibilities.

The interior ministry issued these directives in line with the recommendations of the Functional Committee for the Affectees of Coronvirus.

Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser heads the committee.

During a meeting he had advised the ministry to facilitate respectable return of the stranded Tableeghis and Zaireen to their homes.

Meanwhile, the federal and provincial governments earlier notified Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for lockdown to control spread of the pandemic.

The government has been considering to constitute committees to ensure the complete implementation of SOPs in religious activities during the month of Ramzan.
