Shia leaders demand action against saboteurs in Gilgit Baltistan.

Markazi Imamia Council GB president Wazir Muzaffar Abbas made this demand while addressing a press conference at Gilgit Press Club.

Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen leader Ilyas Siddiqui and Islami Terheek leader and retired SP S Nizamuddin and Kausar Hussain also accompanied him.

They slammed Gilgit-Baltistan chief minister for corruption and discrimination.

They said that GB CM bypassed all forums and approved four RCC bridges constructions projects at cost of Rs 1 billion.

Shia leaders said that they support feasible development projects if chief minister had followed rules.

They objected to constructions of these bridges within four to six kilometers distance. They said that many points at Diamer and Baltistan region require such bridges. Hence, they opposed non-feasible projects.

Meanwhile, these leaders spoke on Coronavirus. They cited government declared Nagar district Red Zone but provided ration (food items) to only some people.

They demanded the government to declare Nagar calamity hit area and provide essential relief to all residents.

The Shia leaders said they are following the precautionary measures and don’t even hold congregational prayers at mosques.

But, the government and some elements don’t appreciate cooperation and self-discipline of Shia Muslims.

They demanded stern action against those who desecrated sacred religious symbols /places.

Shia leaders said that some elements were trying to destroy peace in Gilgit Baltistan; therefore, authorities concerned must take action.
