MWM condemns harassment of Pilgrims and Caravan Operators on the pretext of Coronavirus.

Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Sindh chapter and Pilgrims Caravan Operators have rejected the Coronavirus related media hype against pilgrims.

MWM provincial deputy secretary general Ali Hussain Naqvi, Allama Sadiq Jafari and Allama Mubashir Hasan and others addressed a joint press conference in Karachi.

MWM condemns harassment of Pilgrims

They condemned the malicious propaganda containing overt sectarian hatred against pilgrims of Imam Reza’s holy shrine.

They reminded the media and the state authorities that Coronavirus originated from China and South Korea and Italy also remained the most affected by the Coronavirus.

They expressed dismay that no such steps they see on China and other affected countries but only Pakistani pilgrims remain the target of Coronavirus related measures.

MWM leaders expressed solidarity with pilgrims and operators of pilgrimage caravans (sort of travel agents). They also demanded that government must ensure respectful return of Pakistani pilgrims from Iran.

They condemned malicious campaign against Pakistani pilgrims on the pretext of Coronavirus.

They also lamented that Pakistan embassy in Tehran and consulate in Mashhad are not playing responsible role to help Pakistani pilgrims.

MWM leader said that Pakistani pilgrims are stuck in Iran because of suspension of direct flights from Iran and closure of Taftan border.

Therefore, they demanded government and other authorities concerned to ensure respectful return of Pakistani pilgrims stuck in Iran.

They also demanded immediate end to media hype regarding pilgrims of Imam Reza shrine. They warned that they would not tolerate biased sectarian and selective measures on any pretext.

They demanded the government to stop harassing pilgrims and caravan operators forthwith and provide them all necessary facilities to return their homes safely.

MWM leaders demanded necessary facilities for all patients instead of creating sense of fear among society.
