Thousands attend 22nd Safar azadari procession in DI Khan. The procession began from Imam Bargah Ghazi Abbas Alamdar (AS).

Due to heavy security arrangements, no unpleasant incident occurred.

Shia mourners paid homage to Imam Hussain-led Martyrs of Karbala. As per their tradition, they beat their chest and recited nohas.

Besides, zakirs highlighted parts of holy life of Imam Hussain.

At various points, azadars got food and water at sabeels throughout the route of the procession.

However, all didn’t go well. Because, WAPDA disrupted electric power supply thrice.

Due to that, azadars had to protest and demanded action against them.

Historically, Shia Muslims have suffered much in Dera Ismail Khan due to terrorism. Shia genocide in DI Khan compelled many to leave their ancestral abode.

Apart from targeted murders, they have also seen injustices. The government of the time never took pain to address their grievances.

Sometimes, police deliberately left them insecure exposing them soft target for terrorists.

Unfortunately, state security agencies also did injustices to them. Particularly, they subjected many innocent Shias to enforced disappearance.
