Shia and allied Sunni parties stage sit-in to express solidarity with Revolution March

Shia Muslims and their allied Sunni parties staged sit-in in on Tuesday evening to express solidarity with the legitimate demands of Islamabad’s Revolution March that include dismissal of the government, dissolution of Parliament and huge reforms agenda to make Pakistan a welfare state according to the Constitution of Pakistan.

Supporters of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen and allied parties staged sit-in on main M.A. Jinnah Road near Numaish. Similar sit-in was staged in Karachi, Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Badin and Dadu. Sunni Ittehad Council, Pakistan Awami Ittehad, PMLQ and Sunni Tehrik also backed the MWM’s sit-in.

They endorsed the charter of demands presented by the leaders of Inqilab March in Islamabad. They said that their sit-in staged at Numaish Chowrangi outside mausoleum of founder of Pakistan Mohammad Ali Jinnah and that would continue till the Inqilab March.

Women and children also participated in the sit-in. Allama Shaikh Hassan Salahuddin, Ali Hussain Naqvi and Maulana Ali Anwar Jafari of the MWM said that their sit-in and protest was being staged on a call from Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari, secretary general of the MWM.

PMLQ’s Naeem Adil Shaikh, Zeeshan Panhwar, Pakistan Awami Tehrik’s al Haj Iqbal Mehmood and Mehmood Memon, Sahibzada Azhar Raza of Sunni Ittehad Council, and Matloob Awan of Sunni Tehrik expressed support for the MWM’s sit-in protest.

They urged the government of the PMLN to step down. They asked the rulers to quit because they are involved in Model Town massacre and they should face trial for their crime. They said that all the demands of the Inqilab March were legitimate and nothing illegal was desired by the leadership of Inqilab March. They said that Awami Parliament of Inqilab March is legitimate and representative of nation.
