Pakistan defence analyst hails Hormuz Peace Endeavour HOPE Initiative of Iran. South Asian Strategic Stability Institute (SASSI) University head Dr Maria Sultan lauded Iranian president UNGA speech.
In an exclusive interview, she cited Iran President Dr Hasan Rouhani’s speech at United Nations General Assembly. And called it a positive development.
Furthermore, she suggested that the regional states must take the HOPE initiative seriously.
Moreover, Dr Maria Sultan called for maintaining peace in Persian Gulf, Indian Ocean and other shipping lanes of the world. Pakistan defence analyst also termed necessary
She declared President Rouhani’s no talks with the US without lifting unjustified sanctions on Iran a right stance.
The analyst referred to the JCPOA agreement signed on the condition of lifting sanctions on Iran. But, the US unilaterally withdrew. She also noted re-imposed sanctions on Iran as illegal, unjustified and unlawful.
Meanwhile, Dr Maria empphasised that US cannot put the state organisations and state armed forces as terrorist organizations. Because, she further said, that goes against international law or any international framework.
Therefore, the expert rejected it unacceptable and totally illegal. She also called US sanctions unacceptable.
On the other hand, President Rouhani vowed that Iran would not tolerate provocative intervention of foreigners.
Most importantly, he told the UN General Assembly of Iranian response.
Iran would respond decisively and strongly to any sort of transgression to and violation of its security and territorial integrity, he said.
